Event Check-in

Mark who actually showed up at your event. Check-in lives on the event page, inside the registrations table that’s visible to organizers.

Check in an attendee

  1. Go to Events and open the event.
  2. In the registrations table, find the attendee by typing their name or email in the search bar at the top of the table.
  3. Click the check-mark icon next to their name.

Their status changes from Registered to Attended, and the check-in time is recorded.

Note: Only registered attendees can be checked in. Waitlisted members need to be promoted to registered first. See Event Registration for how waitlist promotion works.

Bulk check-in

If most people are already there and you want to check in a group at once:

  1. Select the checkboxes next to the attendees you want to check in.
  2. The bulk action bar appears at the top of the table.
  3. Click Check In Selected.

Somiti checks in everyone you selected and skips anyone already marked as attended.

Search and check in quickly

The search bar at the top of the registrations table filters the list as you type. Type a few letters of someone’s name or email, then click the check-mark icon next to their row.

This is the fastest way to check in a steady stream of arrivals at the door.

View attendance counts

The sidebar on the event page shows a live count of registrations by status:

Status What it means
Registered Confirmed, not yet checked in
Attended Checked in at the event
Waitlisted On the waitlist
Cancelled Registration was cancelled

These numbers update as you check people in.

Filter by attendance status

To see only the people who haven’t been checked in yet:

  1. In the registrations table, use the All Statuses dropdown.
  2. Select Registered.

You’ll see only the people who are confirmed but not yet marked as attended.

Export attendance records

After the event, you can download the full attendance list as a CSV:

  1. Open the event.
  2. In the registrations table header, click Export.
  3. Open the downloaded file.

The CSV includes each attendee’s name, email, phone, registration status, payment status, and check-in time.

Undo a check-in

There’s no undo button, but you can cancel the registration and re-register the person if you checked in the wrong attendee. For most situations, a mistaken check-in can stay as-is since it doesn’t affect the event.
